2. Honey Springs Battlefield
Looking to explore some history? You’re in luck, because just north of town is the Honey Springs Battlefield. Learn more about the Civil War battle fought here during 1863 as you explore their trails. Watch re-enactments of the battle, or explore reproductions of nineteenth-century military equipment.
3. ATV Riding
About 40 minutes away from Checotah is the Lake Eufaula Dam ORV Area, a perfect spot for off-roading. The trails near the dam offer miles of open dirt, wooded paths, and plenty of bumps to go around.
